I had an electrician from Aleco, Al, come to take a look at a power issue. He spent five minutes inspecting a single device and then told me I needed to replace every outlet and the breaker box in my home, which would cost $9K. Despite being 37, he gave me a senior discount to lower the cost closer to $8K. He said if they had to rewire the house it could be close to $65K. Though I was always planning on getting a second opinion, I immediately burst into tears (I was NOT expecting that sort of bill). He tried to pressure me to immediately put a $1K deposit down so they could start work later that week.

I have since had two other electricians troubleshoot the issue and tell me Al was scamming me. The device on the patio had incurred water damage and caused a short; replacing every outlet and the breaker was completely uneccessary and would not have resolved the actual issue. An electrician with integrity was able to solve the problem for $600. I think Al saw a single woman unfamiliar with electrical work and figured he could take me for a ride. Absolutely predatory behavior.

I'd highly encourage doing some due diligence before hiring this company. They were difficult to work with, very expensive, and had a lot of delays (quoted us 4-8 weeks, ended up being 5+ months). The technicians themselves were nice enough, but corporate was extremely frustrating. They charge 50% up front (normal), but then expect they won't return your calls for weeks. I had to call essentially every day to get them moving. Additionally, they would show up to our house unannounced (no warning) saying they needed to measure something or take a photo. This happened multiple times despite asking they give us a heads up.

I'd recommend exploring and getting a competitive quote from another company who is local and diamond certified. We will be going with the other company for any further work!

Do yourself a favor and do not hire these folks. I made the mistake of hiring them to do a complete rewire of my home. The sales person estimated it would take 5-8 days. It took over 1.5 months, and isn't even 100% done after three months. They sent a two-person crew who worked only half-days, and they only came about 2 or 3 days per week with one-week breaks several times (they were clearly splitting their time with other customers who had also been promised faster service). One day, they sent only one person (you can't rewire a house with only one person), and another day they sent two helpers without an electrician (you can't rewire a house without an electrician). They lied throughout the process, telling me crews were sick when they were simply being scheduled at different job sites. Worst of all, when the job was ""finished,"" it failed the Oakland city inspection based on the inspector's observations of the wiring in the attic and basement. This was 1.5 weeks ago, and they have not yet been willing to schedule with me to fix the code violations that they caused with their electricians. This is particularly alarming since the city inspector can only see a small fraction of their work, with most of it hidden by walls. Now I am left wondering if they are leaving numerous code violations behind the walls also that the inspector cannot see, and I'll only find out when something bad happens behind the walls. I'm not sure how this business has customers when they do business in this fashion, but please don't make a mistake by being one of them.

I had scheduled an appointment for an electrician to come out for an evaluation/estimate. I had to schedule it a week out for somebody able to come out while I am at home. It had been scheduled between 3-5p on a Friday. The day before the appointment, I receive a text that the technician would be coming at 11a, when I would be at work and nobody would be home. When I called to find out why the appointment time had changed, I was told they had to reschedule as 3-5p was when their technicians are returning home. Nobody had called me to reschedule, and they kept trying to give me an appointment at times I had told them I would not be available. Very unprofessional to reschedule a clients appointment without discussing it with them.

After waiting out the two hour window 8-10am), I called and was told, ""oh yeah we had someone call out, your new time is 1-3pm."" No call, no heads ups just two hours of my day wasted. Fast-forward after waiting 2 more hours, it's 3:10pm, receive a call ""your technician is almost there."" Fast-forward 4:30pm, I call them back and get told their technician decided to just go home. All in, this company wasted 5 and a half hours of my time with zero professionalism or respect for others. the comcast of electricians.

The reviews are correct. Pricing is through the roof for a simple project. And having two men do the job hardly seems necessary.

The technician arrived on time, but was unprepared. Didn't have a small ladder. Had to let him use one of my dining chairs to stand on. I also had to loan him one of my screwdrivers so he wouldn't have to go back out to his vehicle. He didn't wear shoe covers, but he did put some on when I asked if he had any. It was a little frustrating that he asked the same questions several times. If the owner decides to go ahead with this company, I'll be back to post an update.

Mike and his team of contractors were excellent in their evaluation and delivery.

We purchased an ev car and needed to extend our line from the backyard to front. They set it up beautifully and also installed our wallbox. We had some issues due to the box and where the vendor (bmw) couldn't help, Mike came through with a solution.

The guy is really easy to talk to, he articulates well, and is really friendly.

I'll have Aleco in mind to refer to friends and family, and for future electrical needs.

If I could give them negative stars, I would rate them negative five. First, I scheduled an appointment to repair my unit, which had no power. They showed up the same day I called, which seemed promising. However, upon arrival, the technician could diagnose the issue but not repair it. The person on the phone never mentioned that they only do estimates first and then reschedule for the actual repair--meanwhile, my unit had no power.

The technician identified the issue as a simple fan replacement, which shouldn't take long to fix. Despite this, they scheduled the repair for three days later, leaving me without power in the interim. On the day of the scheduled repair, they didn't show up. I spoke to two managers who were not only unhelpful but also rude.

If you need a repair done promptly, DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with!
