Mark saved our kitchen sink!! It was getting pretty gross because it was clogged (the incinerator/garbage disposal wasn't working) and it was not draining any water, so whenever anyone used it, it became like a swamp (green and oily because pesto sauce was in it). I had used buckets to transfer water from the sink to the toilet for a few weeks. Even though Mark was booked up for now, he asked me what my issue was, identified the problem, and gave me clear instructions over the phone to fix it. I'm thankful, he was kind and his help has brought my quality of living back up... Thanks Mark!!

Mark was extremely helpful! Even though he was supposed to be off, he took my call, and even went so far as to come to my house on a moment's notice to help me diagnose our problems. Even though we didn't get to use him this time around, he gave me referrals to subs that would answer my calls and schedule me in so that we could actually get some work done. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to give him a call the next time something comes up!

We haven't been completely satisfied with anyone hired to work on our home before. Mark, however did great work, offered fair pricing, and gave great advice too. He even fixed a broken fan rather than replacing it for far more money, and less work. We'll be calling him soon again for more projects.

Mark rescued us from a cold house of over 4 days. We unfortunately have a deadbeat landlord who let us move in to the house without heat. And we have 2 little girls. Who does that??
So after 4 days of our landlord ignoring our pleas, we called Mark to help us out. He was at the house within a couple of hours and had the heat running in no time.

Mark and I in the last year have been able to work with each other / been able to give each other work and when one of us are too busy were able to give the other person a bone. I had the pleasure to do a job for a customer recently for Mark because he was a little too busy and that customer had nothing but good things to say about Mark and I just wanted to let other people know that he's a great guy and he would be a great alternative to me if you ever need work done.

I needed help in having someone go out and replace a back door lock for my Senior Mother. Mark told me that he was really booked today and couldn't do it. He took the time out to refere me to someone reliable who could probably do it today. He said the safety of my Mother was important. I can't thank him enough. Mark is the handyperson for my mothers landlord. We were looking for someone to come out and re-tile over our bathtub, and decided to give Mark a call. Mark asked us what we were looking to do, but it turned out that he doesn't do this type of tiling. He told my husband that he sounded sort of desperate, which fit the bill since we are getting ready to list our place on the market. We told him that several dedicated ""tilers"" wouldn't call back and that we wanted to get it done ASAP. He reccomended just replacing the grout, and sent us over to another vendor (also on Yelp!). We just got the grout replaced, and the bathroom looks FANTASTIC.

Not only was Mark honest about what he could/coudn't do, he was willing to send the job to someone else and helped us out although there was nothing in it for him (at this time!). It's rare to find someone willing to take the extra time to find out where they can help you with their knowledge.

We will definitely be calling (and definitely reccomending) Mr. Gilman again for the next project we need help with!

Mark with Alameda Home repair worked om my home. I am very busy with my own business and never have time to work on my own home.
