After years in the business, I’ve built relationships with many local electricians. A few have been part of my team before. In general, Agoura Electric enjoys a strong reputation as a reasonable and expert choice. As the owner of Agoura Electric since 1994, I promise you will be pleased with both the cost and quality of our services or we’ll return your payment.
As an electrical engineer, I have been involved in electrical work since I was 16. Agoura Electric has undertaken projects of significant scale, including major apartment buildings, universities, high schools, and hotels. We excel in all aspects of electrical installation, particularly residential work. We manage both high-voltage tasks like panel upgrades, lighting, and outdoor wiring as well as low-voltage installations like computer networking, sound systems, and home automation. We specialize in automated systems, such as pool control systems.
Lately, I’ve been involved in writing books about unlocking your true potential. The book titled ""Travel Within"" is available all over the world. You can always reach me directly at (818) 703-3945.

Max Sander B.If you really need an electrician this is not the right person for you; there is a reason he has 2.5 stars on Yelp. We got dragged through the mud of promises never met and prices much higher then originally quoted. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. Jim is a clown and doesn't take responsibility for his work. I've redone his work with conejo valley electric and they are much better.
Not responsive to fixing problems. Agoura Electric installed 5 exterior motion detector light fixtures for me, one did not work out of the box, two went bad within a few days and the three replacements are now not working and one of the original fixtures will not shut off. Of the eight fixtures (including the three replacements), I only have one fixture working properly. When I called, the owner said he would be out the following week to fix the lights, three months and I am still waiting for him to fix the lights. Do yourself a favor and use someone else. Problem with dealing with someone like Agoura Electric is that it is too costly to take legal action to recover losses and he is well aware that you will not sue him for this reason. I have purchased replacements at Costco to install.
He also installed a security camera system for which I will post a lengthy story and review for you shortly.. suffice to say, not working properly, large hole in entry level ceiling not fixed, issue with cables and I had to pay one of his vendors that he refused to pay for installation work at my house.
Mary L.Called them to install new cat6 cables for a Medical building in Woodland Hills. Jim was very professional on the estimate and install with his team. Took 2 days making 120 drops for Computer and Phone systems. Everything was tested by Jonathan from Tecwest and he approves, everything works perfectly to the patch panel. Overall very satisfied. One minus star for going over budget, but they kept it very close to estimate. New tenants are happy. Thank You.
Barbara E.Why don't I listen!
The oher reviews told me to stay away!
I made an appointment and Jason showed up on time and installed my new light just as promised. He needed to fix my ceiling fan but did not have the proper ladder, and promised to come back.
Like a fool I paid for everything!
I have made numerous calls, 2 appointments have been scheduled, I have been home no one showed up! I made made more calls, return call promised .. NO RETURN CALLS. PAID FOR WORK, NOT DONE.
This is the 2nd time I have used Agoura Electric - both times were great. I just had several lights and outlets installed. The price was fair, the workmanship seems 100%, the guys showed up on time and were friendly and easy to work with. I give them a big thumbs up - they took care to make sure that everything was as I wanted. As a p.s., my ceilings are sloped and the attic pretty much disappears in the part of the house I needed my work done in. They found a way to do it AND were cheerful about it. A complete recommend from me.
We set up an appointment and his worker was on time and did the requested work. I later found out that work was not done correctly. When I called Jim, he gave me several excuses why it was not working (all were wrong), but he said he would take care of it. He also said he would educate his worker so it would not happen again. After 5 emails and 5 phone calls that were all ignored, I moved on. I cannot recommend someone that takes your money, but has no pride in their work and makes excuses.
Awful, Awful,Awful. I purchased a Conejo deal recently. Local company and a professional web site. Looks good! I wasted three days of my life that I will never get back. They had stated that they had got so many calls that somehow I had been lost in the appointments. OK. Made another appointment for another day. Same problem. And yet again another day and another appointment. Enough! Lies and a total waste of my time, and telephone calls.
I decided to purchase a deal on Conejo Deals for Agoura Electric. I was selling my place and needed some electric work before doing so. I spoke with Jim the owner and scheduled a meeting around during the week, forcing me to leave work to meet him. Jim neglected to call or show so I gave him a call. Jim said his crew called in sick so he had to work on another job and apologized for not letting me know. I understand things happen and decided to give him another chance. We set another appointment and Jim did the same exact thing, no call, no show.
I called Jim again and he said he was too busy to talk but would call me back and take care of me. I still haven't heard from him 3 months later and I'm stuck with this stupid offer I purchased that I would rather throw away than use Jim for. I have no idea on what the quality of work would have been, nor will I ever.
People normally use Groupon or Conejo Deals to gain exposure and to increase their book of business but I would suggest you ignore this ""deal"" for Conejo Electric and pay for someone reputable.
Worst experience ever with any contractor. Jim Hosseini, the owner, did the original estimate but sent his incompetent flunkies to do the work. They clearly did not know the code and did a Mickey Mouse job. It was always different guys showing up days or weeks after the work was supposed to be finished (and only after multiple calls to find out where they were) that did not know what needed to be done or how to do it. Jim would quote me a price over the phone for additional work but when he sent the invoices the prices were higher. If I complained he would try to bully and intimidate me (seems to have a problem with women). His work failed inspection twice and he tried to blame me for it, saying I gave instructions to his guys that were wrong, as if I am supposed to know the code and the business of an electrician. Then he tried to double bill me for work I had already paid for, and tried to bill me for the additional work he had to do to correct his flunkies' shoddy work so he could pass inspection (without any agreement from me in advance that I would pay these amounts). When I refused to pay those last two fraudulent invoices he put a lien on my house. The lien is invalid, but now I have to go through the hassle and aggravation to get it removed. I have since hired another electrician to come in and fix some of the bad work done by Agoura Electric (costing me more money) and the new electrician told me he was shocked at the quality of work done before his. The only reason I hired this electrician to begin with was because I had used Agoura Electric at another house years before and they did good work. After all this happened I found out this is not the original Agoura Electric, they went out of business and this guy Jim took over the name. Run, do not walk, from this electrician!
I called on a Sunday and within 5 minutes the owner called me back. When I explained our problem, he said he could walk us through the problem over the phone. Amazing customer service!! I will definitely be a repeat customer :)
