Great contractor to deal with for probably all your electric needs!

My project was fairly easy, just to set up 9 recessed lights in two areas, one with attic access and one without, ceiling is not like cathedral height. I called our 3 contractors and they were the fastest and most reasonable price (30% less and 400% less than other contractors I checked quote). They have standard rate for this kind of task unlike others who needed to come and do an estimation.

The electrician came on time as agreed and do the work with good ethic. The project was completed nicely and up to my expectation.

My suggestion to them is that better call prior to the appointment day to double check the confirmation, I had to call them to make sure in this case and make sure to always turn off the circuit breaker before carrying out the work for piece of mind.

Recently bought a home in McKinney and it had two light fixtures removed at some point in the dining room and on the back patio with just metal covers over them. I asked for a quote from ABR and got a very reasonable quote within 20 minutes. They scheduled the visit for about 4 days later and Tyler arrived 15-20 minutes early. He was polite, cheerful, professional and did a fantastic job! He was careful with our furniture and cleaned up after himself. Since my wife was not available for her okay on the height of the dinner room chandelier he even explained how to add links to the chain in case I needed to.

After having excellent service in 2 previous jobs with ABR, my expectations for a 3rd one (today) were understandably high. Unfortunately, this was not the case. After arriving 30 minutes after the scheduled time, Tyler headed up to our attic to survey the work. As someone who wants to learn, I followed, and was disturbed at the carelessness I saw as Tyler moved around our attic. Hanging on ducting, yanking on the electrical cable, and a complete disregard for any strategic blown-in insulation, I was uncomfortable with him being up there. (not to mention his comments regarding how the access 'sucked' and overall lack of enthusiasm)

After coming back down he informed me that the job was going to cost 60% more than what was quoted and was going to take 2+ hours to complete.

I declined continuing the job and wished him a good day.

After excellent service previously, I can't say that I am happy with my experience today and won't be able to recommend them to any friends or coworkers. I hope others continue to have a better experience than what I did today and will be on the hunt for a new go-to electrician.

These guys are amazing. I wanted little lights in my 3rd story dormer windows in the attic spaces and garage and they crawled up there and installed my little lights! They totally stepped up to the challenge on everything I wanted. They not only work fast and are master electricians but they are the nicest people. Highly recommend them.

Installed a whole house surge protector for me. Came when they said. Did a good job. Chris even noticed where the A/C breaker had a loose connection and fixed it.

ABR Electric is a great company! Their staff is knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. I had to reschedule on them three different times and they were more than happy to work with me. It took me two failed experiences with other electricians to find these guys. Go to them first! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone needing an electrician.

Very negative experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I was referred to ABR Electric from a car dealership. I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on a $1000+ job over a week in advance. I was very specific about my time requirements. After 15 minutes late, I called and they said they'd be ""close to 30 minutes"" late. I was unhappy, but they assured me they would have electrician arrive as early as possible ... so I cancelled my next meeting and stayed home. Over 1 hour 15 minutes later, no electrician, no call. I called again -- Jason was surprised that the electrician Nathan hadn't arrived yet, and had no explanation. Finally 1 hour 45 minutes after initial appointment time, Nathan finally arrives at my house and rings the doorbell. Of course, I was then long gone. The experience wasted my morning and my attitude. Too bad. Too many companies out there who value the importance of punctuality and first impressions to give them another chance. I will also let the dealership know they shouldn't be giving ABR as a reference. Poor reflection on them.

I have used ABR electric twice now and each time the guys did a great job!

I looked on yelp before considering ABR and I'm happy to say that the other reviews r true!

1) One of the reasons I picked ABR is because they would reply messages VERY fast (within the hour) through yelp, EVEN on weekends! I guess most working people only have the weekends to search for household services (electrician/maid/repair), myself included, but most of these places are open only during weekdays, forcing customer to leave voicemails and wait for call backs on Monday. But I didn't need to wait on ABR because Jason always responds fassssst (to my surprise because other places normally don't respond outside of working hours), even tho ABR'a hour says it's closed on the weekend. I guess this is an example of going above and beyond one's job description. A big plus for the company!

2) Price: I asked for multiple quotes from different companies and ABR's was more than reasonable. Another company I contacted tried to get me signed up for some absurd membership in order to give me an discount, yucks!... ABR was straight forward with no gimmicks! +1 for ABR!

3) Service: both times the guys would call before coming and show up on time. They were courteous and explained to me what they were going to do. I have done the typical electrical work such as chandelier installation, fan installation, recessed lighting, under cabinet lighting, etc. Another +1!

I would recommend ABR to other people!
