These guys sold me over $8000 worth of air conditioning replacement and fixes to install a new AC unit, reduce humidity, and correct airflow between rooms of my house. Looks like they sold me a unit that was too small for my house (I had no idea) and did not reduce humidity at all inside. Now I cannot get someone on the phone that will do anything. Buyer beware. I've been conned and I hope you will be victimized by this company.

I experienced problems with my water filtration system that Abacus installed 4 years ago. I noticed the problem on a Saturday morning. System was regenerating (flowing water full stream) but didn't stop regenerating due to malfunction for an undetermined amount of time. Called that morning and they sent a plumber within an hour. He bypassed system, tweaked existing system and seemed ok. Five days later, Wednesday, got a call from the Water Dept notifying me of an unusually high usage of water...11,000 gallons (due to malfunction). Friday, I had no running water in my house. Checked the water filtration system again. It was trickling water so I bypassed the system and was able to get running water in the house. Called Abacus on that day and left a message. Didn't get a call back Friday or Saturday. I had to call back on Monday. They did schedule a plumber for the next day but I was unavailable. Plumber came out the next morning, ordered new parts (thankfully under warranty) and installed new parts within hours. Other than the non-response from my messages, eventually, they came through and I do appreciate their efforts to make things right. It would have been nice to know, at installation, that parts may need replacing in 4 to 5 years. Otherwise, I do appreciate their response time and fixing the problem. 4 stars given because I see an improvement in their efforts to address issues.

I called on a Saturday at noon when my air conditioning unit stopped cooling. I was given a 3 to 6 PM window for my repair team to arrive. Doug and Michael arrived at 3 PM. Within 20 minutes they had diagnosed and repaired the problem (a corroded connecter). I was not charged extra for a weekend visit. In fact I was given a 10% discount as a member of the Abacus service network. This is simply the best company in Houston.

Don't waste your time or money with these guys. You will likely waste a lot of just time waiting for a technician for your scheduled appointment only to have to reschedule again and again because they can't seem to figure out how to show up on time. Also, they seem to have gotten too big for themselves are the departments are very siloed such that no one seems to know much. I am canceling my membership and going back to the small business who has more reliable and better customer service.

Called for an appointment at 3:00pm on Sunday, was told of the additional charges for the holiday weekend. Telephone sales agent told me it would be after 6pm before service tech would be out. I had family over for barbeque and needed to clean up. Called back at 7:30pm for update, told we were second stop for tech, did not hear from anyone until 11:30pm ( still not there) Told whoever was on the line to forget it. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

Had a very small leak in a copper line. Same issue I've dealt with 5-6 times in several houses in the last 10 years. Usually costs less than $300 to fix. Abacus charged us $780. Job took about an hour. Called them to ask why it was 3X more expensive than everyone else. They couldn't give me an answer but said they would refund the $122 they charged to cut a hole in the Drywall. I wasn't aware until now that anyone was worse than John Moore.

Three hour appointment as a club member and they were a no show. They used to be good, few years ago, but no longer.

My AC wasn't working, condenser coils had froze and the blower motor was out. A technician/salesman was sent to me and explained that I would need to pay 500-600 for a new blower motor (when really it just needed a new capacitor and began to work just fine). Since my system is older he then explained I would be better off getting a whole new AC system. I took the quote and thanked him and called another individual with Sanders service solutions. Thank goodness an actual installer (not salesman) was sent who had real knowledge and changed the capacitor. My home is now cooling and I'm not out a whole bunch of paychecks and my sanity. I understand companies wanting to make a buck but not at the expense of people in need during tough situations. The 10 year part and labor warranty did sound pretty good if I had to get a new system but 11K wasn't gon' happen. Glad I didn't sell soul away.

I arranged to have a routine service call by abacus because they were endorsed by Tom tynen on the radio. They were supposed to assess and service our unit which is a three story townhouse.my wife answered the call while I was at work.the service guy came as scheduled, went to the backyard, looked at the unit and took a quick look and all he said was that our coils were disintegrating and that we needed a whole new system.he didn't even look at our compressor or furnace on the third level ( I'm very compassionate towards disabilities, but this guy was too large to get thru our door,) therefore he couldn't have serviced our unit.all he told us was that we would need a full replacement, sight unseen!!!!!
Will never ever use abacus or recommend them for anything! He basically LIED OUTRIGHT !!!he started trying to upset about bringing in a crane, etc.total upsell

Had another group come in and service.said system and coils were all fine.in and out in an hour.done,no upsell, full servicing!

We essentially paid for a 99 dollar service call to have abacus try to force my wife into buying a new unit.should be placed on bbb notice!!

We called Abacus last week after our bath tub would not turn off. It continued to run water at full speed! We had a choice of turning the water off in our home and waiting to find a plumber the next day or calling a 24/7 plumber. We didn't want to be without running water in the home, especially with a toddler so we called Abacus. The communication was great. The receptionist gathered the details of my situation and let me know that she would give me a call back after speaking to a plumber. She was also upfront and let me know that I would be assessed $150 on top of the cost of labor and parts for the after hours work. She called back promptly and told me she could have someone at my house within 30 minutes. Stephen arrived within that time frame and he was extremely professional! He quickly identified the issue, let us know that he had the part in his truck and told us the price. He gave us time to discuss it and also let us know about Abacus's membership which would save us a little money. He was not pushy at all and really took the time to answer our questions, we had a lot! I hate we had to meet Stephen under such conditions but I will definitely be using Abacus for all of my future plumbing needs. I did feel the price was high, but I did not mind paying due to the urgent nature and due to the exceptional customer service. We called another company that advertises 24/7 plumbers and was told that no one was available until the next afternoon. They wouldn't have charged a $150 fee, but again, no one was available. Thanks Abacus!
