Recommended Customer Reviews

Went thru Home Depot to see who they recommended for for air conditioning repair, ours went out at the hottest point in the summer I was impressed with the turnaround time at Abacus air and plumbing. It turned out to be the capacitor
On the air conditioner unit.
The part was reasonably priced and I just wanted my air fixed.
The young mean was very nice and courteous, I would recommend them to my friends.

Don and JD just completed the job. The builder and his electrical contractor installed 6 AWG Aluminum wire from the panel to the provided Electric Vehicle charger in the garage. Aluminum wiring to the outlets in a residential home was outlawed decades ago after causing so many house fires. The literature that comes w the outlet says ""copper only"". If you think all electricians are the same you're wrong.
Abacus installed copper wire to replace the aluminum wire. Don and JD did an excellent job. They were very respectful of my home and the cleaned up before they left. This is the second time I use Abacus. They explain what to expect and t address all my concerns. I will call them next time I need an electrician.

Used care salesman approach to plumbing and electrical. Ridiculous estimate, more than 2x more expensive than the 3 other estimates I got from other reputable electricians. Stay away, literally call any other electrician these guys are garbage.

Don't sign up for the ""membership club"". It's the the Hotel California.
I've requested cancellations 2 X's now: ""sure thing"" they politely say, then a week later still no reversal of the charges to my CC.
I started this 2 weeks before my membership was to renew. I'm going back in the que, another long wait period to speak to someone. I hope 3rd times a charm.
Ya'll learn from my mistake. It's not worth it no matter what they try to tell you.

Tremendous service from beginning to end. Call in service rep was thoughtful, thorough, engaged and appreciative. Service was booked for next day. Dispatcher was communicative, informative and spot on with ETA.
Our electrician, Tristan, was swift to diagnose and explain the resolution. He ensured we full understood the problem, focused immediately on the solution and wrapped up the call in less than an hour.
Strong service experience for us.
We're grateful.

We picked Abacus to help with plumbing, AC and electric after hearing great reviews and seeing how big of a presence they had in Austin. We completely remodeled our house and there were a few areas that needed new electrical work. Abacus recommended we rewire the entire home because it would easier. They ended up spending 5 months troubleshooting.
- At least once a week, they wouldn't show up and we had to reach out to reschedule
- When they did finally show up, they rarely had the right team or materials and would have to leave to get what they needed
- The holes they cut for switches and outlets were sideways and too big, leaving holes around the faceplates that they didn't offer to patch
- One employee fell through our ceiling leaving a huge hole -- we decided to patch it ourselves because, at this point, we did not trust that they would do it properly and they were going to charge us for it.
- The electrical to our AC and pool pump was working before they rewired the house and stopped working after. They told us it wasn't their fault and we'd have to pay for them to fix it.
- After their last day, we realized our entryway switches turned on lights for rooms around the corner and some outlets didn't work.
- The new AC ducts started leaking and when someone came out to check it, they told us it was a problem with our roof. I went up into the attic myself and immediately found where the AC was leaking. I came back down to show them a video I took and instead of fixing it, they said they'd send the video to their team and left. They did eventually come back and fix it a few days later.
We reached out to customer service multiple times and were told we'd be contacted by management. It's been three months and we've heard nothing.
The employees were always very kind and all the plumbing work went smoothly. I do believe they were all trying, they just never seemed to have the right tools, team or information to get the job done and it ended up costing us a lot of extra time and money. Needless to say, we could not count on them and will not be using them in the future.

The shower handle broke. I went and purchased a new Moen one. I called abacus and they said they could have someone there within a couple hours. The gentleman Robert from Abacus came in and went directly to work. He was professional and nice. I was told by Abacus that she was unsure if the guys carried spare parts or not so I rant to Lowes and paid 22.00 for one. I returned and gave it to service man. I was told I would get an estimate on the job before they start. Probably with 20 minutes he came down and said he was able to fix with a piece from his truck. Used or unused part unknown..and then wrote me a bill for over 400.00. That seems about 2 times what the cost should have been. I cannot say that i would recommend or call them again unless they resolve this problem. I was clearly taken advantage of-

Horrible customer service. Our A/C went out on a Friday evening. When they finally came out Sunday evening the technician couldn't fix it and had to order a part. We went to his van to make some calls and ask us to give him 20 mins and he would be back with some info and that was three days ago. Supposedly the part was ordered Monday but here it is Wednesday and still no A/C and no eta on when it will be fix. There is no communication between the company and the customer at all. If I ever do get the 2000 dollar part they have to fix my A/C I will never use them again.

Abacus plumbing told us that we had a very complicated job and that their technicians would need to do work in the. Attic and the crawl space under our house to bring our system up to code. They changed over $5,100 for a 40 gallon water heater replacement due to all the work that the technician/salesman said needed to be done. The installation crew showed up 1 1/2 late, did the installation in less than 2 hours and never went to the attic or crawl space to complete the installation. So the whole ""complicated job story"" was basically a lie to make us pay extra for a simple project. I wish I could give negative stars. Shame on me for not getting more quotes, it will be an equal shame if anyone ever uses Abacus again.

I called to schedule an appointment to get a quote for an A/C system replacement. I was given a date for the next day and was told their policy is that the appointment could be anywhere from 8AM to 6PM and you would get called 45 minutes before a tech was to arrive. If that timing didn't work just let them know and they would try again later in the day.
I get a call at 2:15 saying a tech would be here in 30 to 45 minutes. At 3:15 no tech so I call the number they provided to call if you have any questions, the rep said she would transfer me to dispatch, ended up in a voice mail box, hung up. It was now 4:15 and still no tech, called again, was tranferred a couple times just to end up being transfer back to the original place that I called that couldn't answer where the tech was.
If this is their level of service when they're supposed to be trying to sell you something I'm not taking a chance on how they provide ongoing service for their equipment. If the tech ever does show up they're being shown the door.
