As a young journeyman electrician, DW Robertson launched ATE (A Tech Electric) from his home in Citrus Heights, California. In October 2008, he earned a C10 General Electrical License from the California CSLB and immediately pursued opportunities with property managers, investors, and owners of residential, commercial, and multi-family properties for service work, along with contractors and developers for contract work.
ATE has always focused on particular clients and projects that demand unique expertise. We welcomed challenges ranging from home theater systems to swimming pool setups, electromechanical industrial systems, water parks, marinas, ponds, and lake aerators!
ATE began operating from a small office in Citrus Heights in 2010, later acquiring a 1200SF office/warehouse in Rancho Cordova the next year.
Today, ATE functions out of almost 4000SF in Gold River, CA.
David, a native Californian, was born and raised in Northern California, where the greater Sacramento Valley is home to him, his lovely wife, and their two children. With a nine-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son, the Robertson household is always lively, filled with endless activities and events. Living at the base of these majestic Sierra mountains makes it easy for us to pursue an active lifestyle year-round. Mr. Robertson engages in several local projects, all supported by the success of his electrical business, which he is truly passionate about.

Don't ever put yourself through the torture of working with these people. As part of a larger project, this company was placed in charge of replacing my pool pump. On the appointed day, Scott (part of the Scott and David disaster team) came over and did the work. I noticed afterward that my pool's cleaning system wasn't working like it used to, so I asked my pool guy to take a look at the new pump. He told me that it was installed improperly and water was leaking everywhere. Obviously a bad sign regarding Scott's skills (my pool guy is convinced he's incompetent). But Scott came back the next week to fix his error, arriving half an hour late without any phone call or apology (typical for him, by the way). He supposedly fixed the leak, and then offered to help me with a lighting issue I was having as compensation for my inconvenience, which I thought was quite gracious. But then Scott looked at the light and said he didn't have the tools necessary to actually fix it, so he would have to come back. We set yet another appointment time for that. On that day, the appointment time came and went, and an hour later, still no Scott. When I called him, he responded, ""oh yeah, my current job ran late so I can't make it out there"". I asked him if he was planning to call me to tell me that or just let me sit around waiting all night. He laughed (seriously, his initial response was actual laughter) and then said ""I didn't have your number, sir"". First of all, WHY NOT??? Doesn't common sense dictate that you should have the numbers of the day's clients readily available? Second, had he spent even 10 seconds actually thinking about it, he would have realized that his main office obviously has my contact info since they are in charge of scheduling and appointments. But why do that when you can just blow a client off, I guess (I didn't say any of this by the way). Anyway, just to try to make him keep his commitment, I said I really want this done today, and asked him to take care of this after his current job was done, no matter how late it was. He said he wasn't sure how much longer it would take, but he would call me when he was ready. You can guess what happened next--no phone call, no follow up. I can't say I was surprised, but still, this unprofessional behavior really burns me up. Obviously given his track record on the pool pump I'm probably better off with his hands off my electrical system anyway--who knows what damage he would have done to it? But it still blows me away that people like this actually stay in business. Yes this was supposed to be a courtesy, but what good is an offer like this if it doesn't actually get done? Don't offer something if you have no ability or interest to actually honor your commitment. If it weren't for Scott, I could have had my lighting fixed by now by another (competent) electrician. Instead I'm sitting here writing a review of a truly awful company that you all would best avoid.

Found David at A Tech Electric on line. Spent a few minutes on the phone to discuss work to be done at my marina. Said he would come out to assess the marina at no charge. Set a date and time. He did not show up nor did he call. I even left a confirmation voicemail an hour before the appointment. Perhaps I scared him off when I initially asked him to bring some references.

Worst service ever!!! I call and he would tell me he would get back to me but nothing. Following weeks (2) I would leave voicemails and nothing return. It has now been over a month now. I paid this guy David 119$ and he said he would fix the issue but pretty much took the money and ran. Obviously, this is a new business which will fail and his location is a PO Box so I cannot go report this but if you like bad service call him if not choose another person / business!!! I would never wish anything bad on any business because I am a part of a family business myself but I must write this review to warn people from this scammer.
