Please see below the actual e-mail I sent to Mr. Mike Huffer from A&M Electric. and the following was his is response.
Mike,
You quoted me over the phone $100 to install the water heater, and when I received your bill it was for $350.00. It is the second time that there has been a
discrepancy in the bill I honor it the first time however, I am running a business and can not operate this way.
Just left you a voice mail.
please call me to discuss.
I also had e-mail you previously stating the same issues.
Thank you,
Marina
THIS WAS HIS RESPONSE!
We itemize our estimates and invoices. When the scope changes the price changes. Had you had a competent general contractor with job supervision you would have been aware of the changing scope. You saved on engineering drawings as well as by having no supervision on the job this lead to mistakes that your plumber and carpenter/ Unlicensed G.C. made which cost you more money. We did tried contacting you to no avail. we completed the repairs due to the switching of the sink and toilet as well as an electric Insta hot that was improperly purchased by someone with out a master plumbing license that new what they where doing. You lack of experience and supervision should not equate to costing me more money. Hopefully you learned something and will hire a good G.C or quit complaining about the extras do to your own poor decisions. Regardless everything extra we did at cost. We do not believe in pencil whipping on extras. Send the extra scope out running a 240 volt 30 amp dedicated 40' circuit from the panel to an existing sheetrock wall. And then add the 30 amp cord whip. We charged u $250 more. You cant find anyone that cheap! And i have to wait months for you to respond and be treated like a thief. if your going to own property in Texas i recommend learning our values. So pay your bill or you will learn California and Hawaii don't have a monopoly on the courts. I believe the supreme court just over turned them. One thing you can count on in Texas as we take care of our own we have exceptional pride in who we are and we practice conscious capitalism some thing you may study up on. And we will not put up with cronyism especially from blue states. Pay for the services you received or our lawyers will meet here in Texas where justice and the law prevails not cronyism your the problem with this country and people like you. Expecting something for free from hard working people because these tactics of not paying the last 10% usually cost sub contractors more money to chase than its worth. Unfortunately for you im a fighter not a flighter i stand up for truth freedom and what I believe is right. If you cant stand for your principle you don't stand at all. Balls in your court you want play or pay i will enjoy either.

Workers came to my house and tried to charge me $750 to replace a switch. They said they had to rewire the entire circuit. My husband told them no and told them it was a switch that needed to be replaced. They fixed that and I only had to pay $225. I then asked them to come back and move some wiring in a bathroom that we were working on. I talked to the owner, Mike Huffer, who told me on the phone that the price would be a maximum of $250. When the workers were done, they gave me an invoice for $450. I said I wasn't paying it because Mike had quoted me $250 on the phone. After they called him they came back and said he had sent the quote on my email to not exceed $335.00. I told them I would pay that but no more. After they left, my handicapped father went into the bathroom to use it. I had not checked it after they left and did not realize that they had left chunks of wood, big pieces of wire, screws, and a round piece of metal conduit all over the floor. I didn't think to check it because I had never had a contractor leave a mess like that before and just assumed that it was cleaned up. My father tripped on the materials and fell breaking the toilet into a number of pieces. I had water going everywhere. My Dad is ok but I had to have someone come back and replace the toilet. I sent Mike Huffer an email, which after he read it he called me screaming at me and threatening to have me arrested for insurance fraud. There was no communication on his part about what I needed fixed. He didn't even ask me if my Dad was ok which I think was the worst part. He also refused to give me his insurance information to file a claim. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!
