Thomas C.A Brighter Austin was recommended on NextDoor, so I contacted Kevin with a request to install an electrical outlet in my garage. He set an 8:00 a.m. arrival time, so I wouldn't have to take off work for too long. I was very clear that I needed him there at 8:00. I texted him the night before, and he confirmed an 8:00 arrival time.
I texted him at 8:16, no response. Texted again at 8:21, no response. I replied to my NextDoor post that he didn't show up. He finally responded at 9:17, but I'd already gone to work.
Then he accused me of slander for posting that he hadn't shown up. Then he asked if I still wanted him to do the work. I wasn't interested in having someone who was clearly angry at me working on my home's electrical system, so I told him I didn't need his services. Then he started blowing up my texts, including threatening to bill me for his time. He said that we had a verbal contract. I pointed out that he was the one who broke the contract. At this point, I was pretty frustrated and I posted that I would be posting negative reviews for his business. He said if I kept it up, he was going to need a criminal attorney.
So he didn't show up, didn't communicate, accused me of slander for posting an honest comment that he didn't show up, and then said he was going to need a criminal attorney, implying he was going to commit a criminal act against me.
Probably best to steer clear of this business.
