Paid way too much for the work but can't place the entire blame on them. I was greatly disappointed when I found concrete, that they had to remove, left hidden (or that they attempted to hide) in a corner of my yard. Really?! What kind of business does this?

A1- Electric responded quickly to my elderly parents call for help with a circuit breaker that would not reset - so they had no electricity in part of the house. A1 was very kind to my mother and fixed the issue quickly. My mother was worried that it was going to be a big problem, but A-1 did a great job. She was so happy with their service - she cannot say enough about how nice they were and how they fixed the problem. Thank you A-1 for helping and being so nice!

Time for a new electric panel. Ugh. We bought the house a couple of years ago and the inspector told us that the panel was very old but still functional, which meant it wasn't a bargaining chip on the sale of the house. When circuits would flip ""off"" we'd have to wait hours for the circuit breaker box to cool down enough to reset the flipped culprit. Sometimes just opening the box would create enough jostling and misalignment to make other circuits flip ""off"" or, worse yet, loosen to the point of not being able to pushed back into place.

Did the research to find out what the process was and contacted several companies, asked around to get recommendations. After several quotes, we decided on A-1. This is a family-owned business (run by Wathen) and they know Claremont and the surrounding areas very well. Wathen arranged with the city to inspect the old panel and it took him and his nephew a 1/2-day to do the entire thing from pulling out the old box, installing and wiring up the new system, running a complete ground in the front of the house to include gas, water, and electric lines, patching up the wall where he worked, and painting around the new box. Again, he arranged for the city to come out and inspect the work and we are fully up to date with our new electric panel. We're so glad we did this. They were so diligent, our ice cream didn't have time to melt in the freezer while the power was off so we shared some well-deserved Haagen Dazs bars with them and are ready to recommend them to the community!

We had an electrical problem in our kitchen, where half the plugs went out, but the other half of the kitchen was fine. Checked the breakers, etc. but could not find the problem. Called A-1 Electric and got an immediate response. They arranged to meet me at my home the same day.
I left work early to meet them, but got delayed in traffic. They waited patiently for my arrival. Once inside, they checked all the outlets, and almost immediately found the problem (a worn out wall socket). They charged me a fair price for their time and the part. What more could you ask for?!

We had a hard-wired smoke detector fail in an increasingly loud, persistent fashion. A-1 had an experienced tech here within an hour of my call. He tested the circuit, the noisy unit and the 9-volt battery. He also had a replacement unit on the truck and was finished within 30 minutes. I would definitely call again, as the man was thorough, careful to explain each step, and fair in his charges.

Called at 7:15am to report that half of the house was out of power. They scheduled us for within the hour and were right on time. Very polite and professional father and son team, wife handles the phones. Located and repaired the problem (with an outlet) and looked at the 220 connection at our stove which required a little extra. No problem and the charge was only the ""service call"" of $78. I will highly recomend them to anyone asking if I know a good electrician!
