Gerald has come out to my home for a couple of projects. I had him install a garage door camera as well as 4 ceiling fans throughout my home after a housewarming debacle (It felt like the 7th level of Hades' dwelling in my house). Gerald was professional, timely and didn't charge me an arm and a leg to get it done! I was super impressed with the way it all was handled each time he was at my home.

If you're looking for an electrician who is honest, prompt, polite with reasonable price and solid knowledge/skills, Gerald is your man! I had ""unstable electrical flow issue"" throughout the house, which had been getting worse from flickering lights to killing my electronics (wifi router, microwave, etc.) one by one. When I called Gerald and explained all the symptoms, he told me to first call GA Power for free inspection. I ended up calling Gerald back after GA Power confirms no issue on their end. Gerald promptly came to my house to perform thorough inspection on wiring/panel/etc. and found no issue. Then he offered to speak to GA Power on my behalf to have them come out again. When GPA guy came (for the second time) and said nothing was wrong on their end, Gerald spoke to him directly on my behalf, which led the GA Power to come back out to perform further inspection (for the third time). It turns out, it was indeed GA Power issue (transformer failure) that was affecting my neighbors also - poor lady across the street from my house paid fortune to another electrician to replace her entire system, thinking it is her problem! Gerald was honest from the beginning and even helped me deal with GA Power! My neighbors are very happy now too. THANK YOU, Gerald!!

All of the outlets in one of my rooms stopped working in the house I rent. Resetting the breakers didn't help so I called 50 States Electric and spoke with Gerald.
He gave me a good quote that I thought my landlord would go for so I asked Gerald to contact my landlord to arrange for payment. He cheerfully agreed to do it. We set up an appt for 3PM.
Gerald arrived on time and started looking for the problem. He took apart the breaker cabinet but didn't see any problems. He then opened up all of the outlets and checked the wires. He didn't see any problems there either so he went up to the attic to look for the junction box.
The attic had recently been insulated so I was sure any wires there were covered up. But Gerald was thorough. He found the junction box and saw the crumbled wires in it. He replaced them and got everything working. Nice.
The process took over 2 hours but he was friendly the whole time. He answered all of my questions and he cleaned up the areas where he worked.
Even though the problem took 2+ hours to fix, he only charged the landlord the original price he'd quoted. How many companies do that?
I heartily recommend 50 States and Gerald in particular. I'll use them next time without thinking twice. I suspect my landlord will too.

I called with an electricity problem and Gerald was at my house within 5 hours. He had to do some major work but was able to get it done over the weekend and in one day. We live in a 100 year old house, but Gerald made it work. He even had GA Power come fix part of the problem the same day and waited with me until everything was correct. Very happy with Gerald and his services!
Called about dimming lights at my residential address. Gerald promptly responded to my call and set up an appointment the next day in the morning. He was able to find the issue (main breaker) and locate other potential future issues (detached weather head, damaged meter base, and unapproved breakers). He then contacted Georgia Power to make sure that everything was good on their end to cover all the bases. He was able to complete all the work in one day an was very knowledgable and able to explain everything that he did. Will definitely call back for any future electrical work!

I found Gerald here, on yelp. I needed some minor repairs done to what ended up being a broken GFCI and a loose wire in an outlet along with a new outdoor box + GFCI installed. I also wanted to investigate how much it would be to run cat 6a cable throughout the house, terminated in the top of a closet. Gerald quoted me, both my wife and I were happy with the price, and he got to work! Everything turned out excellent. I hadn't gotten my patch panel in by the time he started, but after punching them down they all work great!

Gerald is both personable and professional. He spent 2 days total doing the work and was pleasure to have around(I work from home). Any further electrical work I need done will definitely go to 50 states electric, and I've already given a recommendation to friends and family!

Gerald came out on very short notice and not only did he promptly diagnose and correct the issue, he also pointed out numerous other issues. Excellent electrician. Gerald installed some recessed lighting for us and did a great job. We were very happy with the end results as well as with the overall process.

1) Gerald was very professional and easy to interact with
2) He helped us think through optimum placement to get a good even light distribution around the room as well as to optimize for symmetry and aesthetics.
3) The work was excellent and we like how it looks.
4) Gerald's pricing was reasonable and consistent with other electricians we reached out to on Yelp. He was not cheapest but not the most expensive either. I felt like we got what we paid for.
