They completed a small project (bathroom fan installation) on time and under budget. Bruce & Tommy were very professional - both in timeliness and treating my property like it was their own.

Bruce and his brother are awesome. I could sit around and hang out with Bruce all day that's how cool of a guy he is. And he's built a pretty legit operation. His wife schedules Bruce out and was great to work with and followed up closely. Bruce knew his stuff on my kitchen rewiring and made sure everything was done right. I was impressed with the quality of work and with Bruce's problem solving skills to be able to make our kitchen re-wiring even better. He made improvements and re-wired the kitchen so that the appliances weren't all in the same circuit and were on superstar circuits that the lights so the lights don't dim every time you start the microwave, for example. I would highly recommend Bruce and I would hire him again in a heartbeat.

We had a situation where a small subset of the outlets and switches stopped working. The main circuit breakers and the GFCI outlets were all fine. I couldn't figure it out on my own so I called 5 Star Electric. As luck would have it, they had an opening on that very afternoon so I took it.

Bruce showed up on time and systematically went through and tested all the possible break point scenarios. He traced the problem to the transformer in our ceiling lamp in the dining room, a place I never would have guessed since we have high, vaulted ceilings.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the work done. Turns out we had a bad GFI Breaker that handled multiple outlets in our garage. I left a message with 5 Star on Sunday night and got a phone call promptly the next morning. Fortunately their electrician (Hester) was working close by and could fit me into his schedule for the day. The job was extremely simple to diagnose and remedy but Hester did not a replacement part with him and needed to go find one. After going to a couple places he called and said he could either order one which would take an additional day. Or as an alternative he could install a non-GFI breaker in the panel and then install a GFI outlet in the first box feeding the garage circuit. I chose the later option, I also had Hester look at and give advice related to a couple other electrical issues that I had since I was paying for his time anyway.

I would use 5 Star again. I was happy with the service. The reason for the 4-star rating is (1) not having a replacement breaker as part of their inventory and (2) not accepting a credit card for payment. In my case these were relatively minor details but enough to warrant a slightly reduced rating.

We have a duplex built in the 1970's and on occasion things break. On Monday, the kitchen lights and electric went down, so I headed to yelp to find someone who could fix it. I called 5 Star Electric, and I spoke with Cortney on the phone and made an appointment for Wednesday morning. She was really helpful - and she even called me back to see if we could take a last minute spot on her cancellation list! Bruce arrived on time and was prepared to do the work needed. In under an hour, he had replaced the faulty outlet, taken a look at a couple of other issues and gotten everything working again. I will be saving 5 Star's number so I can call them again in the future. Total bonus that it's a family run business and everyone is so friendly!
